i seriously cannot remember the last time i was at our state fair, so when my bestie and i were trying to come up with something fun and unique for a session with her and her boys, i thought what better place than the state fair!  now i will tell you that the fairground is not exactly in the best part of town, but we sucked it up and set out to make a go of it!  and i am soooo glad we did and so glad we weathered the heat, as it was quit a warm hot afternoon!  luv you guys!!!!!!!!!

i am so far behind on blogging and editing, i completely apologize…its already a very busy, busy season so far.

here is miss maddy.  i have had the pleasure of photographing this little beauty for two years now and every time i see her again, she just gets more and more adorable, if thats even possible!  i think it’s a toss up between maddy’s mom and i, for who gets more excited about thinking up new ideas for each birthday session of little miss maddys.  as you will see, mom is amazing at stylizing her baby girls session, everything she kept pulling out, i would become more and more giddy, like a little school girl.  enjoy the extra long post, i just couldn’t narrow down the images.

and were off to first grade {insert *tears*}!  our baby is growing up faster than we can keep up!   its all so bittersweet, as all you parents can attest too!  i am continuing the tradition of taking raney out to do “back to school” images as i started last year for kindergarten, here.  we set out just last weekend, two days before school started and it was extremely HOT and my little guy wasn’t too much in the mood for picture taking so i consider these images “better than nothing” as he appeased me for a short time-frame.  we had found these glasses and thought they’d make for some fun images along with a #1 balloon to signify going into first grade.  i thought it would also be fun to play around with some different processing than i normally do……..

its been only two days since raney started back to school and i’m already feeling lost without my sidekick right next to me!  summer vacations just aren’t long enough anymore, but i will forever cherish this past summer’s memories!  i love you sweetie and i know its gonna get a little getting use to, going from kindergarten to first grade with a new teacher, new schedules and new friends, but i only hope that along the way you will love everything about this new year as you grew to love everything about last year!  i can’t wait to see you explore and learn even more!

i was so excited to meet up with fellow photographer and the very talented, kelly anderson and her daughter last week.  kelly and i got to talking back-n-forth recently and she was mentioning doing a very special, super fun “mommy & me” shoot with her oldest, madelyn, who will be going off to kindergarten just weeks from now!  i jumped at the chance to be a part of making these memories for the two of them!  i had SO much fun watching their mother/daughter interaction with each other, they have such an amazing relationship.  here is just a taste of what is more to come soon.  i swear at only five years old, madelyn is a pro with that hula hoop, a born natural!
